We had our annual Disciples Teen Group Movie Night on Monday, December 10th and took 15 teenagers to see “The Grinch” at the Altoona Movie Theaters. Chris, our leader, has done a fantastic job of reaching this community and giving the teenagers a safe place to hang out after school, complete a creation DVD series and share a weekly meal. The teenagers had a blast receiving popcorn and drinks while lounging out on the recliners. Some kids were so impressed that one said, “Even the bathrooms smell great here” while others tweeted out to their friends where they were and replied, “My friends are jealous of me.”
Our next trip will be to Boone, Iowa at Seven Oaks for our annual Snow Tubing Night. Each teenager will cost about $20 for two hours of snow tubing and their meal. If you would like to sponsor a child, please send your check to PO Box 41188, Des Moines, Iowa 50314. We could use your help to pay for 15+ teenagers to go snow tubing.
