The Renewal Awards, a project from The Atlantic and Allstate, recognizes local organizations who are driving positive change in their communities—and helps them make an even bigger impact. In spring 2019, five winners will each receive a $20,000 award from Allstate, including the Allstate Youth Empowerment Award. Please complete and submit this nomination form by November 30, 2018.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 27th at 4 pm!!!!!! The Friendship Center will be hosting our first annual Halloween Costume Party for both adults and children! We will start the evening with a Bingo Tournament, with the grand prize being a Wii System and games. Then we will have dinner provided by Londa Crigger’s Small Group from Soteria at 5 pm, and we will finish the night watching a kid-friendly movie at 6:30 pm.  Popcorn provided!!!!

For the best Halloween Costume, the winner will receive a $30 gift card. Please dress appropriately for an Adult and Kid-friendly party!!!!

***With our attendance increasing dramatically in 2018, our monthly supplies of toiletries runs out very quickly. Would you consider collecting toiletries for a month in 2018-2019? Fall Activities at the Center

Starting, Monday, September 10th, all fall activities will resume at the Friendship Center.  Activities include Monday’s Disciples Teen Group from 3:45-5 pm and English as a Second Language Classes from 5 to 6 pm.  Tuesday with Community Breakfast & Diapers giveaway from 9 to 10:30 am and After-School Kids Club from 3 to 4:30 pm. Wednesday with Ruby Van Meter from 9 to 11 am and After-School Kids Club from 2 to 3:15 pm. If you have any questions, please contact Joe at 515.244.1701.

Back 2 School Supplies Giveaway


Please join us on Saturday, August 25th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm for our Back 2 School Supplies Giveaway night. We have over 90 school backpacks filled with school supplies for Elementary, Middle School and High School Students, along with bibles in each bag. Grandview Chrisitan Middle School football team will be handing out the bags to the community, and New Bridge Church will be providing the meal. Free to all.

2018 Friendship Center Basketball Camp

Register Today for the 2018 Friendship Center Basketball Camp at John R. Grubb YMCA during July 23 through Friday, July 27 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This basketball camp is for grades K-5 Boys and Girls. Each athlete will receive their own basketball, T-shirt, water bottle, and award poster.  Upward basketball camp focuses on character development, drills, & gameplay skills training. Financial Peace University

Thank you to the members of the Friendship 100 and supporting churches for allowing us to offer this 9-week Financial Peace University class free to the public. Starts May 16th from 6 to 7:30 pm and ends July 18th.

146! Since November 1st, the Friendship Center has welcomed 146 new individuals to the center’s ministry. Thank you!!! The Center would like to invite all 546 facebook followers to consider joining the Friendship Center’s 100 for the 2018 Calender year. What is the Friendship Center 100?

The Friendship Center 100 is a group of 100 people who care about the Friendship Center and desire to see its ministries significantly impact the surrounding community. The basic structure of the Friendship Center 100 is that each member commits to an annual term of partnership in which they will be invited to quarterly events and will be expected to contribute $100-$150 each quarter.

For those that choose to support the Center in 2018, the center would like to offer you a Thank you gift. Each new supporter that commits to one year of support will receive a FREE Friendship Center T-Shirt, 5 Inspiring Films from the Kendrick Brothers and an ESV Bible.
